Thank you for all your support and encouragement in preparing for the launch of Weston's Foodbank. The Foodbank is now bursting with food!! and exciting news!!!
- We had a great Asda collection on tuesday 23rd. Thank you for all the volunteers: we had an ample and hard working team at the supermarket and back at the warehouse, and collected over 400kg of food thanks to the generosity of the people of Weston!!
- That means we now have over 1.2 tonnes of food!! which we have decided is enough to launch the foodbank operationally.
- On Tuesday 6th Sept. Jeremy Ravn from the Trussell Trust will be at the foodbank giving the following training:
14:30-16:00 Foodbank Centre Operations. This is for foodbank staff and volunteers and focuses on meeting and dealing with clients
16:15-17:00 Voucher distribution training. This is for all agencies and churches that would like to be foodbank voucher distributors.
17:15-18:15 Project management. This is for core staff debriefing regards our present readiness and position.
Please put these dates in your diary and pass the info on to suitable people/agencies you have contact with.
With our present volunteer base and the need to have at least three people manning the foodbank, we have decided the following opening times:
Mondays 3:30-5:30
Fridays 12:00-3:00
We will be opening the foodbank on Monday 12th Sept.
