Churches Together in Weston-super-Mare & District (CTWD)…
is a cross-denominational (or ecumenical) body that encourages and supports inter-church work, worship and witness among our 35 member and associate churches.
There are lots of amazing things happening in and around Weston-super-Mare! As we see more and more initiatives where people from our local churches get together 'as one' (John 17:21) - we are witnessing seemingly 'impossible' projects being blessed with resources, volunteers and support.
The outcome is that our community is being gradually transformed for the better and doors are opening for us to express in practical ways and in words, the message of hope that motivates us.
CTWD is part of Churches Together in Somerset, who in turn are affiliated to Churches Together England. Our support comes from donations and yearly subscriptions paid by member churches.
Deacon Gary Hoare from the Methodist Circuit in WsM is our President. He co-ordinates the work of the Executive Committee and is an excellent ambassador for the Church, in and around the town. He has numerous links with church and community projects.
Churches Together is run by an Executive Committee consisting of one clergy and one lay member elected from each of the member churches along with co-opted representatives of some of our partner projects. They meet three times a year.
Weekly Vigils for the UKRAINE War - Each Sunday evening at 6pm, we will be gathering together informally at two of our town centre and outlying Churches for prayer, reflection, sharing and to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
